About QiblaTap
Last updated: 17 August 2026
QiblaTap is a free, fast and privacy-respecting tool that helps Muslims find the direction of the qibla and the daily prayer times anywhere in the world — no app to install and no sign-up.
What QiblaTap does
Enter your city or share your location and QiblaTap shows the exact bearing to the Kaaba in Mecca, the distance in kilometres, a live compass, and today's prayer times together with a monthly timetable. It covers thousands of cities in seven languages.
How we calculate the qibla
The qibla is the great-circle bearing — the shortest path over the surface of the Earth — from your location to the Kaaba at 21.4225° N, 39.8262° E. We compute it with the standard spherical bearing formula, then express it as degrees clockwise from true north. On the city page we also show the magnetic-compass reading by applying the local magnetic declination, so it works with a physical compass too.
How we calculate prayer times
Prayer times are computed from the sun's position for your coordinates. For cities in Türkiye we use a method close to the Diyanet İşleri Başkanlığı; for other regions we use the Muslim World League (MWL) parameters. Times are shown in the city's own local time zone.
Accuracy
We take accuracy seriously because this is a matter of worship. A calibrated phone compass is typically accurate to within a few degrees; keep the device away from metal and magnets. For prayer times, small differences of a minute or two can occur between calculation methods — where an official local timetable exists, treat it as the reference.
